Maybe Bill Clinton should get off that vegan diet; hunger appears to be clouding his brain.
During an interview with cook and talk show host Rachael Ray that will air Thursday, Clinton suggested he be called “Adam” if his wife Hillary wins the White House in 2016, as reports The Hill.
Specifically, Ray asked Clinton about the prospect of his wife becoming president should she decide to run, wondering what his title would be — as it obviously couldn’t be “first lady.”
“Let’s say, if a woman became president, we could, I could be called ‘Adam,'” suggested Clinton. “I don’t know.”
Adam … like Adam and Eve? Adam Levine? Adam Sandler? John Adams? Oh no, he was a Federalist.
Between Bill Clinton and Sarah Palin, it seems politicians are having trouble with their words this week.
Moreover, according to comments made by Clinton that were released prior to the “Rachael Ray Show” air date, the former Democratic president also speculated about the title of a hypothetical gay president’s spouse.
“You know, if the president is a man, you call the president’s spouse ‘the first lady,’ so we’ll have to cross this bridge if a gay couple [is ever in the White House],” said Clinton.
He seemed to gain a bit more sense when he emphasized what a “serious decision” Hillary has to make in the coming months.
“We’re joking about this, but it’s a serious decision,” explained Clinton. “Serious decision for Hillary, serious decision for the country, and the world.”
“I’m happy to joke about it, but, look, I love my wife,” he later added. “Whatever she wants to do, I’m for. I think it’d be good for the country because she’s the ablest person I’ve ever worked with.”
However, Clinton seemed enthusiastic about the prospect of a “bucket list” should Hillary decide to make the position of grandmother — not presidential candidate — her full-time job.
“If she decided not to do it, I’d give her the bucket list, and we’d go check ’em off,” Clinton said.
Hillary is expected to announce her decision sometime between now and the spring.
