Democrats’ faithless electors strategy backfires spectacularly against Hillary

The media and liberal elites have become obsessed with the idea that there might be three dozen faithless electors willing to dump Donald Trump. Their hope is that 36 electors “vote their conscience” to help find a more centrist alternative to the President-elect.

Well, it turns out they were right to think there were electors willing to vote against the candidate their state voted for in the election. However, it was against Hillary Clinton.

Of the 12 Washington state electors, three cast their ballot against the Democratic nominee for Republican Colin Powell instead. Another announced his support for Faith Spotted Eagle, a protestor at Standing Rock, reported The New York Times.

Bret Chiafalo, one of the electors who voted for Powell over Clinton, was also the ringleader of the “Hamilton Electors.” The Hamilton movement is designed to convince both Democrats and Republicans to dump the leading parties candidates, which results in pushing the election to the House of Representatives.

That effort backfired too as the only people following his lead were Democrats.

Another elector from Maine attempted to vote against Clinton and for Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.). But it was ruled improper, and he was forced to cast his ballot for the Democratic nominee, according to The Boston Globe.

The only Republican electors to switch their vote against Trump were in Texas, where one voted for Ohio Gov. John Kasich, and another voted for former Congressman Ron Paul.

So Democrats came 35 votes short of overturning the election but lost four votes for Clinton in the process. When will she get tired of losing?
