Parody of Lennon’s ‘Imagine’ mocks WH YouTube censorship attempt

Imagine there’s no YouTube asks a parody of John Lennon’s 1971 classic song “Imagine” hosted by Reason.TV.

The parody pokes fun at the White House and liberal intellectuals for suggesting that free speech be limited on YouTube in the wake of the wave of violence due to the posting of the film “Innocence of Muslims.”

The singer, Remy, pokes fun at the idea that government should tell people what they can and cannot see on YouTube by singing about the oddities that populate the site, asking what would happen if they were pulled because a mob got mad.

These include things like people jumping out of garbage cans to scare others, cats playing the piano and a drunk David Hasselhof devouring a hamburger like an animal among others.

“Imagine all the people dictating what we see on YouTube,” the lyric follows. “I hope someday the world will join us and ‘Gangnam Style.’

The clip concludes showing a mass of bearded radical Salafi Muslims protesting the film to the tune of the smash hit “Gangnam Style.”
