Larry the Cable Guy is an outspoken conservative, which is not shocking considering his brand of comedy and his audience who laughs at it.
Right before appearing at Charlie Daniels’ 80th birthday in November, the redneck comic had some words for all the anti-Trump activists who are still protesting the President-elect.
During a backstage interview with Rare Country, Larry said that Trump was going to put Americans first and professional politics second.
“I think he’s gonna do a great job,” the comedian said. “I think it’s about time we ran our country like a business and not put people in positions of power that bought their position into power.”
Larry applauded the President-elect for appointing a cabinet full of former political enemies, including South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley as Ambassador to the United Nations.
“He’s even considering people that don’t agree with him,” the comic continued. “Whosever best for the job, and you need somebody like that. The days of ‘you give us a big donation, and we’ll put your brother-in-law in charge of this,’ that’s garbage.”
The comic took a breath and told the anti-Trump protestors just to give the President-elect a chance and put something before their self-interests and ideology.
