Libertarians are not the largest group, but they are certainly one of the loudest, and they are strong advocates of their principles.
Months after his nomination, former New Mexico Governor Gary Johnson was doing far better than anyone expected, especially with millennial voters. A mid-August Pew Research poll had him at 10 percent and on track to win more votes than any third-party candidate in 20 years. However, his poll numbers have plummeted since then, and he began to make a fool of himself and his party that is struggling to become relevant in American politics.
Nobody can forget the infamous “what is Aleppo” moment, but what has Johnson been up to since?

It is clear the governor has a good sense of humor, something desperately needed in this divisive election.
In an interview with The Guardian last week, Johnson lashed out at the interviewer about his falling poll numbers and the details of his tax plan.
The fact that Gary Johnson is representing the Libertarian Party is “absolutely horseshit” pic.twitter.com/38MLUgZVGZ

This video is from the third-party debate last night with Jill Stein. Not only is Johnson flat-out lying here, he is also showing his inability to act presidential. Not even the moderator can take Johnson seriously. How can Americans?
Obviously, the Libertarian Party will not win on Nov. 8, however it is clear that this election was an opportunity for third-party candidates.
It is no secret that many Americans are frustrated with both the Democrat and the Republican nominees. This election has caused many Americans to switch parties or register as independents. This was the chance to appeal to the frustrated voters and grow the Libertarian Party.
Gary Johnson failed his party and made a complete fool of himself by lying and losing his temper.
Best luck in 2020, libertarians!
