New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady just got some unexpected support from Texas.
During remarks at the home of Massachusetts State Representative Jim Lyons in Andover over the weekend, Cruz appealed to area voters by declaring that the star New England NFL player was “framed” by Hillary Clinton in the “Deflategate” scandal.
“Let me start by saying Tom Brady was framed,” the Republican presidential candidate and Texas senator told a cheering crowd, according to video captured by blogger Rob Eno. “Now, I’m not willing to pander on much, but on that, Tom Brady was framed!”
“And, I will say this, I have it on good authority that Hillary Clinton did it,” Cruz continued. “Why do you think she deleted her emails?”
Others have, like Cruz, made the connection between Brady and Clinton, both of whom appear to be guilty amid their respective scandals because of circumstantial evidence.
While Brady is currently dealing with the backlash from “Deflategate,” Clinton’s private email and foreign donations controversies are slightly more serious.
