Hillary Clinton is looking into a run for mayor of New York City after failing to win her presidential bid in 2016, according to a report this week.
The report said there are few Democratic contenders in the running to take the seat currently occupied by Mayor Bill de Blasio, who won by a landslide in 2013. Relations between de Blasio and Clinton have frayed after he initially refused to endorse her in the 2016 presidential race.
A person close with Clinton told the New York Daily News that top Democrats are urging Clinton to get back into politics by running for mayor. But some think its wishful thinking.
"It'd be sweet justice considering the way that de Blasio treated her (in the primary)," a Democrat and Clinton loyalist told the newspaper. "But it's a political delusion."
