On the issue of transgender rights, President Joe Biden plants his feet firmly in far-left territory.
During a recent presidential forum for NowThis News, Biden spoke with several activists, including Dylan Mulvaney, a biological male but self-proclaimed transgender woman whose social media is filled with video entries documenting “days of girlhood.” Mulvaney makes a mockery of womanhood, as if it’s something that can be adopted out of sheer desire. That Mulvaney was invited to the White House for a discussion on the issue of transgenderism says much about the administration’s motives.
BIDEN VERSUS GOP-LED STATES ON TRANS SURGERIES AND PUBERTY BLOCKERS
During the forum, Biden stated, “I think that it’s really important that we continue to speak out about the basic fundamental rights of all human beings. And the idea that what’s going on in some states — I won’t get into the politics of it — but in some states, it’s just, it’s outrageous, and I think it’s immoral. The trans part’s not immoral. What they’re trying to do to trans persons is immoral.”
This is ironic for several reasons, not least of which is Biden himself is as pro-abortion as they come. He is against the most fundamental right of all: the right to life. In addition, Biden’s embrace of a fad-fueled transgender movement disregards evidence that shows harm in allowing youth to transition.
A recent study done by the National Health Service in the United Kingdom concluded the following, as reported by National Review: “The National Health Services (NHS) of England, the country’s publicly funded healthcare provider, has warned that most children who identify as transgender are experiencing a ‘transient phase.’ The statement is reflective of ‘evidence that in most cases gender incongruence does not persist into adolescence,’ the NHS report states.”
It’s one thing to disagree with gender transitioning done by adults. It’s another thing entirely to not only allow but encourage the same for minors — the same minors who, as evidenced by research done by the NHS, are going through a “transient phase.”
The National Health Service report isn’t a one-off from a fringe organization. It represents a scientific and detailed analysis of what puberty blockers and transitioning do to minors. Treating depression, anxiety, or body image issues in minors with a prescription of gender transition is an approach that is only destined to hurt. The report’s conclusions show how dangerous it is to treat minors in a transient phase with treatment that has lasting and often irreversible effects. Children deserve much better.

Unfortunately, Biden isn’t concerned with the truth. He isn’t concerned with properly helping minors who may be struggling with mental issues. Instead, he is encouraging the use of gender transitioning as a Band-Aid for a range of internal problems and branding those who want to restrict it as “immoral.” Rather than responsibly use his platform, he caters to extreme activists, disregarding what is best for children. Instead of suggesting a wait-and-see approach for those who haven’t yet reached adulthood, he welcomes and embraces the most progressive message he can. He wants his audience to view him as open-minded, regardless of the harm done by his trendy Oval Office activism.
Biden’s friendly approach to transgender activism is anything but kind. He wants to be seen and accepted by the younger, progressive wing of the party, rather than do what’s right for minors in America. Parents and legislators in states across the nation don’t want children pressured into decisions that will cost them so much in the long run. As the U.K.’s National Health Service reports and even testimonies from de-transitioners show, there is good reason for these fears.
