Everyone knows how much Dan Snyder loves to spend money this time of the year. But $600,000 for two alligator leather desks for his office at FedEx Field? Man, that’s a bit much.
It’s also a bit untrue, the Redskins said.
The New York Post wrote that Snyder bought the desks from Giorgio’s of Palm Beach on Madison Avenue in New York. They even quoted a representative from the store saying that Snyder ordered two desks and two chairs and would receive them in six weeks.
But the Redskins vehemently denied the story. Owner Dan Snyder said in a statement, “The story is crazy. I don’t even own a pair of alligator shoes.”
(We won’t bring up the fact that he once owned a Gator as a coach).
Oh, and Chief Operating Officer Dave Donovan said Snyder doesn’t have a desk at FedEx Field.
