Super Bowl Ratings best 23 years- Washington #2 overall nationally

CBS Sports’ coverage of Super Bowl XLIV featuring the NEW ORLEANS SAINTS’ 31-17 win over the INDIANAPOLIS COLTS on Sunday, Feb. 7 (6:30-9:45 PM, ET), earned an average overnight household rating/share of 46.4/68, the highest-rated Super Bowl in the metered markets in 23 years (1/25/87; 47.8/68; CBS Sports’ coverage of Super Bowl XXI – New York Giants’ win over Denver.

It seems that the snow storm this weekend was a huge boom for football fans in Washington. The game logged a massive 56.0 rating with stunning 73 share. That ranked behind only the Super Bowl winner New Orleans in all meter markets.
