Maryland (4-1, 1-0) looks to freshman QB Danny O’Brien, who has not committed a turnover in the first two starts of his career but will be tested by the intimidating atmosphere of Death Valley. Maryland’s last road win came here in 2008.

UNC (3-2, 1-1) has won three straight despite player suspensions and dismissals amid revelations of academic and agent improprieties that likely will cost coach Butch Davis his job. Virginia (2-3, 0-2), still seeking its first ACC win under Mike London, will look to the potent aerial combination of QB Marc Verica to WR Kris Burd.

Revitalized by a pair of ACC road wins, Virginia Tech (4-2, 2-0) has moved to the top of the Coastal Division behind the play of dual-threat senior QB Tyrod Taylor (1,030 yards passing, 449 yards rushing). Visiting Wake (2-4, 1-2) has lost four straight as its defense has surrendered 35.3 points a game. Virginia Tech held Wake to a combined one touchdown in victories in 2004 and ’06.

In its third year in June Jones’ run-and-shoot offense, SMU (4-2) is gunning for a second straight bowl bid.
