Voting rights

Guess who’s for D.C. voting rights? The Belgium ambassador! (Hey, every bit helps…)

Ambassador Dominique Struye de Swielande blurted out his support during Monday’s “Civility Dinner” at the Belgium Embassy. The dinner honored Sen. Susan Collins, R-Maine, and Mayor Adrian M. Fenty for their work on behalf of D.C. voting rights and was hosted by the Institute for Education’s Kathy Kemper. VIP guests included Ed Henry, Mort Kondracke, George Vradenburg and Ina Ginsberg.

And, although the dinner was all about being civil, some guests were uncivilly late thanks to a detour on Foxhall Road caused by construction workers, who were finally getting around to paving the road after years of complaints from D.C.’s well-heeled Upper Northwest residents.
