Now that Stephen Strasburg’s debut is complete, here are a few things we missed with all the hype leading up to his first start:
1. NBA free agency » We were shocked (shocked!) to learn that LeBron James and Dwyane Wade both will become free agents. Has anyone written about this? We’d love to know if these guys ever plan to get together to discuss their plans. Have you heard which teams are interested?

2. Albert Haynesworth is MIA » Yowza! The Redskins big fella is disgruntled? Didn’t see that one coming; goes against his character. Man, we just hope the NFL doesn’t cancel its season because Haynesworth doesn’t want to play in a 3-4. But don’t worry, he’s expected at the involuntary minicamp June 16-18. Shhhew.
3. There’s a big soccer tournament » And someone told us the U.S. has a team. Get out! Time to invest in the orange slices market. We’d love for the U.S. to advance; maybe someone could write a story about how this could trigger the soccer revolution in this country. Nah, no chance.
4. The oil spill » Um, you might want to avoid the gulf coast for a bit. But don’t worry, the president is on top of it. He’s furiously thinking of a way to blame George Bush.
5. Conference realignment » Someone said Texas might join the Big Ten or Pac-10? No way. Next thing you’re going to do is tell us some pitcher had a perfect game ruined by a two-out blown call at first base. Would never happen.
