Nats sign top pick Stephen Strasburg

The Nationals have come to terms with No. 1 overall draft pick Stephen Strasburg. Terms have not yet been confirmed, but Baseball America is claiming the deal is for four years and $15.67 million. The 21-year-old phenom is considered one of the top amateur pitchers since the Major League Baseball draft began in 1965. Washington and Strasburg’s advisor, Scott Boras, finalized the contract – which included a record bonus – in the final seconds before a midnight deadline as Monday night turned to Tuesday morning.
