Najar takes on Honduran press

As we saw yesterday, D.C. United midfielder Andy Najar‘s international future continues to lead the sporting news back in his native Honduras.

In two different Q&As, one with La Prensa and the other with Diez, Najar said in multiple ways that he has not made any decision on if he will play for Honduras or the United States in the future, that he’s not ready to play internationally, that he hasn’t had official contact or offers from Honduras or the U.S., that his fans back in Honduras will just have to be patient with him, and that he remains focused for now on his playing career with D.C. United, which is consistent with what he told The Washington Examiner a couple weeks ago.

It also bears repeating: rumors of a trial with Arsenal are completely unfounded. In fact, the way I hear it, Arsenal themselves called Najar’s agent when word got to them and said, “That’s news to us.”
