President Trump on Monday used Twitter to slam the MSNBC morning show "Morning Joe" as irrelevant.
Trump, who often says he does not watch CNN or MSNBC, said of the program, "The good news is that their ratings are terrible, nobody cares!"
He was reacting to a tweet from White House social media director Dan Scavino, who had linked to a report from the Trump-friendly Breitbart News outlet.
"Fake News: Morning Joe Caught Pretending Pre-Taped Day After Thanksgiving Show Was Live," read the headline on the story.
It covered a small controversy over viewers who noticed that Friday's episode was pre-recorded, though the banter between co-hosts Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski suggested that it was live.
“The day after Thanksgiving, woo! I’m stuffed!” Brzezinski said at the start of that show.
“Yeah, that was a great Thanksgiving,” Scarborough responded.
"Morning Joe" is popular among Washington, D.C., political and media professionals, though its programming is generally highly critical of Trump.
