More than eight-in-10 adults are doing well under the Trump economy, and their confidence is at a near 18-year high, according to a new survey.
While the media has criticized President Trump for not focusing enough on the economy, a Washington Post poll shows that most already have a view of the it and they feel pretty good.
- 85 percent said they are “either doing about as well financially as they were before Trump became president.”
- Just 13 percent said they are not as well off, an 18-year low.
- 71 percent of registered voters “say the economy is good or excellent, up from 60 percent in August.”
- 65 percent of all Americans rate the economy good or excellent, the highest ranking since January 2001.
In fact, in the last three versions of the Post poll, economic optimism has been the highest since January 2001.
And while there is GOP consternation over the economic message, those who like the Trump economy give Republicans credit. The Post said, “Those who give the economy positive ratings favor Republican candidates for the House by 54 to 40 percent, wider than the 49 to 42 percent margin in August.”
