Democrats in Pennsylvania have tried to rebrand Josh Shapiro, the left-wing gubernatorial candidate. After years of pushing the Left’s agendas as Pennsylvania’s attorney general, followed by being a pawn for Democratic Gov. Tom Wolf, Josh Shapiro, the Democratic candidate for governor, is trying to appear as a centrist in the election. Yet, voters must look no further than Shapiro’s refusal to prosecute gun crimes in Philadelphia to notice his true intentions.
Shapiro is a wolf in sheep’s clothing and cares more about left-wing political agendas than innocent people. Unless Pennsylvanians enjoy fearing for their lives while walking through cities, voters should support Doug Mastriano, the Republican candidate for governor.
DON’T BLAME DOUG MASTRIANO FOR JOSH SHAPIRO’S CONFEDERATE POLITICAL PARTY
Left-wing criminal policies have led to crime waves throughout the country, especially in Pennsylvania. Philadelphia, the state’s largest city, is being overrun by criminals. In the city’s storied history, there has been more violent crime, such as homicides and carjackings, in the last few years than ever before. But apparently, that didn’t matter to Josh Shapiro. No amount of bodies piling up on the street could get him to help the people of Philadelphia.
In 2019, Pennsylvania’s House unanimously passed House Bill 1614, a bipartisan effort that gave the state attorney general (Shapiro) the authority to take action against gun crime cases in Philadelphia, especially if the city’s horrible district attorney, radical leftist Larry Krasner, refused to do so. Even Democratic Gov. Tom Wolf approved of and signed this bill. Yet, Shapiro refused.
And this was in 2019 — before the pandemic, before the rioting, before the crime rose to historic levels. Imagine all the lives that might have been saved if Shapiro had acted.
In 2022, after the aforementioned bill expired in 2021, state legislators again took action and introduced House Bill 2275, another bipartisan effort to fight gun crime, crime that disproportionately affects people of color. This bill would again give Shapiro “concurrent jurisdiction” over gun crime in Philadelphia and try to help the people affected most. Once again, Shapiro refused.
And not only did he refuse, but Shapiro also wanted to repeal the law. Crime is at record levels in Pennsylvania’s largest city, and the potential governor wants to overturn a law to combat gun crime. Pennsylvanians would be crazy to vote for Shapiro.
Shapiro’s decision to let people suffer for three years legitimately raises the question: How many people must die before the Democratic candidate in the Pennsylvania gubernatorial race decides to help? Furthermore, why would anyone see such ineffective and radical behavior as centrist and ultimately vote this person into office?
Conversely, Republican candidate Doug Mastriano pledged to be tough on crime. He promised to protect people instead of criminals. Mastriano has regularly discussed the crime situation in Philadelphia; he’s dedicated to changing the current dismal state of the city.
“Lawlessness is killing Philadelphia,” Mastriano said at a recent campaign event. “Philadelphia is where this nation was born in 1776. It should be a hallowed place. It should be a place where people come to enjoy the heart and soul of the nation. But now, it’s a place of danger. And your kids are condemned to these dangerous areas. You’re not sure your babies are coming home safe because of the lawlessness out there.”

When it comes to protecting the people or criminals, Pennsylvanians have a clear and obvious choice of who to support. Shapiro showed his priorities. He only cared about radical criminal justice policies contributing to widespread violence.
Mastriano will restore law and order in the state and make people safe again if elected. Shapiro will continue with the failed liberal Democratic policies that have left people all over the state in imminent danger. Shapiro’s rebranding as a centrist is a con job. Pennsylvanians must not fall for Shapiro’s charade. If they legitimately want the crime to end, the violence to stop, and to start feeling safe again, then Doug Mastriano is the only choice in November.
