‘Sheer savagery’: Harvey Weinstein’s brother says he belongs in hell

The younger brother of convicted rapist Harvey Weinstein issued strong rebukes of the disgraced Hollywood mogul’s crimes during his downfall, unsealed court documents revealed.

Emails from Bob Weinstein were included in court papers that were unsealed on Tuesday ahead of Harvey Weinstein’s scheduled sentencing, according to the New York Post.

“F— u Harvey Weinstein. I pray there is a real hell. That’s where u belong,” the younger Weinstein wrote on Nov. 2, 2017. “I suppose being you, is its own hell, if u could feel it, but no chance. OJ, didn’t kill Nicole Simpson and u had consensual sex with all those poor victimized women.”

“U deserve a lifetime achievement award for the sheer savagery and immorality and inhumanness, for the acts u have perpetrated,” he went on.

In an email sent a day earlier, Bob Weinstein called his brother “delusional” and accused him of a being a “pathological” liar. The emails, according to the New York Post, likely align with the former movie producer’s time in rehab.

“What did u ever do wrong, except bully and abuse people in your whole life and now say crap like everyone makes mistakes,” he continued. “U have hurt, so many innocent women, your family, mine, me, your former employee, disgraced the name Weinstein. The saddest part of all this, is that u will rationalize, minimize and compartmentalize, it all away.”

Weinstein was found guilty of first-degree sexual assault and third-degree rape last month. While he could get hit with up to 29 years in prison during his Wednesday sentencing, his lawyers are arguing that his current health issues and “fall from grace” are sufficient punishments and have asked for a five-year sentence.

The Riker’s Island inmate also faces charges in Los Angeles after he was indicted in January following the start of his New York trial. In that case, he has been accused of raping one woman and sexually assaulting another on back-to-back nights during the week of the Academy Awards in 2013.

Weinstein was arrested after more than 90 women came forward and accused him of sexual harassment and sexual assault in 2017. Many of the claims, however, had already reached the statute of limitations; therefore, he could not face charges from those accusations.
