CNN host Don Lemon blasted Fox News host Tucker Carlson for mispronouncing presumptive Democratic vice presidential nominee Kamala Harris’s name.
During Wednesday’s airing of CNN Tonight with Don Lemon, the network host took aim at Fox News hosts Sean Hannity, Jesse Watters, and others for “sexist smears” toward Harris, including Carlson’s mispronunciation of her name on Tuesday night.
“And then there’s state media,” Lemon said. “Where they have taken an everything-but-the-kitchen-sink approach against the presumptive VP nominee, including, but not limited to, sexist smears and more than one person not even bothering to get Kamala Harris’s name right.”
Lemon, whose name is often also mispronounced on Carlson’s show when referencing him, then played clips of hosts and guests remarking that she’s unpopular with black Americans, questioning her ambition, and calling her a far-left, radical candidate.
“Names can be so hard to pronounce sometimes. Even the names of people who have been on the scenes for years. Say it with me, Kamala Harris,” the host ended the segment smiling.
During their first joint press conference on Wednesday, Biden also mispronounced his vice presidential pick’s first name.
