Democrats reportedly have a plan of action if President Trump moves to hinder the federal Russia investigation.
Should Trump fire special counsel Robert Mueller, whose efforts has already resulted in multiple prosecutions of former Trump associates, within a day lawmakers would demand action to protect Mueller’s team and relevant documents.

A compromise bill by Democratic Sens. Chris Coons of Delaware and Cory Booker of New Jersey and Republicans Sens. Lindsey Graham of South Carolina and Thom Tillis of North Carolina is expected to be the vehicle for that process, NBC News reported Wednesday.
The bill would give Mueller the ability to challenge his termination in U.S. District Court, and mandate all “personnel, documents, and material” be preserved. Democrats have already established a list of Republicans who would vote in support of such a bill, according to the report.
“We’ve had a lot of conversations about how exactly and who and when and where,” Coons told NBC News.
Supportive political groups would urge all Senate activity be suspended until a resolution is passed and hundreds of protests would quickly take place across the country, set up by left-leaning group MoveOn.org.
Democrats also have back-up plans, including what to do if Trump attempts to purge top Justice Department officials who refuse to fire Mueller until one agrees to do it.
