A Republican group is throwing the kitchen sink at Democrat Jon Ossoff in Georgia's 6th Congressional District, linking him to a host of liberal bogeymen: House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., and Hollywood entertainers Rosie O'Donnell, Jane Fonda and Kathy Griffin.

Congressional Leadership Fund made the connection in its final direct mail campaign of the competitive special election to fill this vacant suburban Atlanta House seat, held by Republican Tom Price until he resigned this year to become Health and Human Services secretary. The group, affiliated with House Speaker Paul Ryan, R-Wis., has invested more than $7 million to boost the Republican in the race, Karen Handel.

"Hollywood Liberals can't get enough of Jon Ossoff," the mailer reads. The piece was mailed late this week to 100,000 households in the Sixth District, an educated and upscale conservative enclave but one that barely voted for President Trump over Hillary Clinton in November. Trump won the district by just 1.5 percentage point, even as Price was re-elected with more than 60 percent of the vote.

Ossoff led Handel in the latest polling averages, 49.5 percent to 46.3 percent, although some private GOP polling shows Handel in the lead. The election is on Tuesday.

Republican polling has found that Pelosi continues to be the single best motivator the GOP has in terms of turning out the party's base. Griffin is the latest Hollywood liberal to be used in Republican advertising, since she posted a tweet of herself holding a replica of Trump's severed head that generated broad bipartisan condemnation and resulted in her being fired by CNN as a co-host of its New Years Eve programming.
