Hunter Biden is ‘biological and legal father’ of Arkansas woman’s child, judge rules

A judge ruled Hunter Biden, the son of presidential candidate Joe Biden, is the “biological and legal father” of a child had with an Arkansas woman.

“The results of the DNA tests indicate with near scientific certainty that the defendant is the biological father of the child in this case,” said a Tuesday order establishing paternity.

The document, prepared by the lawyers for the child’s mother, was signed by Circuit Judge Holly Meyer and a lawyer for Hunter Biden. Meyer directed the Arkansas Department of Health to issue a birth certificate listing Biden, 49, as the father of 29-year-old Lunden Roberts’s child. The child, whose name has not been disclosed, was born Aug. 28, 2018, and was referred to as “NJR” in the court document.

Biden agreed to take the paternity test in October after Roberts claimed he was the father of her child. He had publicly denied he had fathered the child, but Roberts said he had admitted otherwise to her in private.

The former vice president’s son has three daughters — Naomi, 24, Finnegan, 19, and Maisy, 18 — from his 24-year marriage to Kathleen Buhle. The two divorced in 2017. He is reportedly expecting a fifth child with his wife, Melissa Cohen, a filmmaker from South Africa. Biden married Cohen, 33, just days after they met.

Roberts’s attorney, Clinton Lancaster, said his client was seeking financial support for the child and wanted to avoid the media spotlight.

“She really does not want this to be a media spectacle. She does not want this to affect Joe Biden’s campaign. She just wants this baby to get financial support from the baby’s father,” Lancaster said about why Roberts filed a petition for paternity and support.

Roberts was reportedly an exotic dancer at a Washington, D.C., strip club when she met Hunter Biden. Biden was dating Halle Biden, 45, the widow of his brother Beau, who died of brain cancer in 2015, when Roberts became pregnant.

The next hearing in the case is scheduled for Jan. 29 to address “temporary child support for the minor child and other matters.” The judge said Biden “shall have visitation with the child as agreed between the parties.”
