A group of Never Trump Republicans released an ad with blistering personal attacks against President Trump, suggesting his family and closest advisers are not loyal to him.
The ad, released Monday by the Lincoln Project, a group of anti-Trump Republicans and independents co-founded by George Conway, husband to presidential adviser Kellyanne Conway, claims Trump is losing the 2020 contest because he has a “loyalty problem.”
“Why do you think you’re losing, Donald?” a voiceover in the ad asks. “It’s because you’ve got a loyalty problem. They’re in your campaign, your White House, in Congress, even your own family.”
The ad, titled “Whispers,” says that they go behind Trump’s back to describe him as weak.
“They expect you to lose. They want the media to like them, to get one last big payday before you go down. With so many leaks, you probably think it could be anyone. Donald, it’s everyone,” the ad states.
The anti-Trump group has released a series of scathing ads, often attacking and personally mocking the president. In late June, the group released an ad with blistering personal attacks on Trump over the crowd size of his rally in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
A Tulsa Fire Department official said there were approximately 6,200 people in the BOK Center, where the rally was held, which would be about one-third of the arena’s capacity.
