CNN’s Don Lemon teared up on the air while addressing colleague Chris Cuomo’s coronavirus diagnosis.
“Sorry, I said I wasn’t going to do this, Jesus,” Lemon said during a Tuesday segment on CNN Tonight. “He’s probably sitting at home laughing at me.”
Cuomo revealed he tested positive for COVID-19 hours earlier and said he was experiencing a fever.
“I have been exposed to people in recent days who have subsequently tested positive, and I had fever, chills, and shortness of breath,” Cuomo said. “I am quarantined in my basement. … I will do my shows from here.”
“Chris and I are really good friends,” Lemon said. “We live near each other. And so, when I walk into work every day, I have to walk by where Chris is, so I usually go to his office and … sometimes I bring the dogs, and we just say hello. Anyway, he’s just not here, and we have this great relationship.”
