The explosive debut of a new book on the fight over Supreme Court Associate Justice Brett Kavanaugh is proving the power of word of mouth campaigns.

Ignored by big media outlets that often shun conservative books, Justice on Trial: The Kavanaugh Confirmation and the Future of the Supreme Court nonetheless has become an Amazon and Apple best seller and this weekend debuts at No. 3 on the New York Times nonfiction best seller list.

Co-author Mollie Hemingway told Secrets today, “The New York Times’ first mention of our exhaustively reported and heavily researched book about the most important thing that happened to the country last year was when they had to place us on their best seller list. It is a sad reminder that many in the media are not interested in journalism but progressive advocacy.”

Fellow co-author Carrie Severino added, “We are thrilled that the book is not just a bestseller, but already making an impact. People are reading it and telling us about the different stories that moved them or shocked them. There is still a real hunger out there to understand what happened during the national circus that was the Kavanaugh confirmation and how to prevent it in the future.”

Their book is an insider’s account of the battle over Kavanaugh and details much of the backroom fighting over his nomination which saw liberals jump on false accusations of misconduct when Kavanaugh was a teen.

Publishing insiders said that both authors have manned their own PR operation to get the word out because major media outlets like CNN, MSNBC, AP, the Washington Post, the New York Times, and CBS ignored it.

The duo conducted over 100 interviews to win attention for the Regnery Publishing book, receiving over 60 articles written about it.

It is a typical story, however, for some conservative books. For example, conservative talk show host Mark Levin’s latest, Unfreedom of the Press, was also ignored by media big shots, but debuted as the New York Times No. 1 best seller.
