Ex-professional boxer Viviane Obenauf was arrested on suspicion of killing her husband after his body was found in their apartment in Switzerland.
According to the British tabloid Daily Star, Obenauf, 34, is in investigative custody after allegedly beating her husband to death “with a blunt object.” Her 61-year-old husband, whose name is protected under Swiss law, died of “massive injuries” inflicted with a blunt object. Obenauf married her husband in January.
Obenauf was arrested once before after punching a man in the face at a nightclub in London while celebrating her 30th birthday, according to Swiss newspaper Blick. She spent several hours in a jail cell over the incident.
Her ex-boyfriend, a professional athlete who is only reported as Andreas H., alleges another incident took place where Obenauf punched him several times after an argument, driving him to slap her in the face.
“She always had two faces. It’s like flicking a switch,” he claimed.
Obenauf was born in Brazil and was an Olympic gymnast before beginning her boxing career at 18 years old. She won 14 fights against six losses before retiring from the sport last year.
After retirement, Obenauf began working in the hospitality industry in Switzerland and later opened her own gym.
