Parkland students offered full scholarship to conservative student conference

Students from Parkland, Fla., are eligible for a fully paid trip to Turning Point USA’s High School Leadership Summit next month. The organization’s Director of High School Outreach is Marjory Stoneman Douglas student Kyle Kashuv, who survived the February shooting and has worked to improve school safety while respecting the Second Amendment.

The event, to take place on July 24-26, will include speakers such as Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., Donald Trump Jr., Anthony Scaramucci, Sen. Orrin Hatch, R-Utah, political commentator Guy Benson, and House Majority Whip Steve Scalise, R-La., a shooting survivor himself.

Kashuv, who has made dozens of major media appearances as the voice of pro-Second Amendment survivors of February’s shooting, told Red Alert Politics that “after the shooting, students who are pro-Second Amendment were heavily marginalized and were very scared to voice their opinion.”

Kashuv explained that these pro-Second Amendment students “haven’t had the opportunities to talk to legislators like the pro-gun control side has.”

“That’s why I really think it’s awesome we have the opportunity to bring them to D.C. and give them a chance to talk to the politicians who can really make a difference on school safety,” Kashuv continued. “It’s time we show their voices.”

Kashuv says he has overwhelming support from his classmates, and that he expects nearly 100 of his fellow students to attend. They will join with other high school students from across the country.

He told Red Alert Politics that left-wing students like David Hogg have refused to even debate him on the topic, instead working with Democrat organizers to shut down the opinions of any students who disagree with their gun control narrative.

Grateful for the support of TPUSA and Ben Shapiro, Kashuv is excited for the scholarship opportunity for so many of his classmates who have not been able to join the political discussion like he has.

“The kids who felt silent and marginalized now have a voice.”
