CNN’s David Gregory blasts Biden for claiming Russian interference did not happen under Obama

CNN political analyst David Gregory went after 2020 front-runner Joe Biden on the network Monday morning for claiming that Russia did not interfere in U.S. politics under the Obama administration.

Biden made the claim during an interview with CNN’s Chris Cuomo that aired last week.

“While Putin’s trying to undo our elections, he’s actually undoing elections in Europe,” Biden stated. “Look at what’s happening in Hungary… look at what’s happening! You think that would happen on my watch, on Barack’s watch? You can’t answer that, but I promise you it wouldn’t have. And it didn’t.”

Biden’s comments are contradicted by the Mueller report, which found that Russia did interfere in the election.

“The other piece of this, too, I mean like when he said to Chris as well. He’s like, oh well the Russian interference, it didn’t happen on our watch, when that’s exactly whose watch it happened on,” Gregory began. “It just shows and I’ve seen it first hand, when he gets in interviews and he gets going, he can make lots of mistakes. I think we may have just seen the beginning of it.”

He went on to say that Biden does not “looks really good right now,” arguing that “he looks out of touch. He looks older. He looks out of step with the times.”
