White House social media director Dan Scavino tweeted out a clip of a man being electrocuted after trying to steal a campaign sign from a President Trump supporter.
Scavino, 43, found a clip that had been floating around online of a thief attempting to steal a Trump campaign sign from the front yard of one of the president’s supporters. The supporter opted to electrify the sign to fend off thieves. The unsuspecting thief jumped back in pain after grabbing the sign, creating a golden, viral moment for Trump supporters.
On his personal account, Scavino tweeted the clip, adding, “When this guy with Trump Derangement Syndrome went to steal a [Trump-Pence] campaign sign there was one problem, it was electrified….”

Several users found the clip hilarious, including a like from Ivanka Trump’s Twitter account. The clip’s popularity could be tied to the fact that Trump’s campaign signs have been a target of thieves since his 2016 presidential race, leading many to find alternative ways to secure their property during campaigns.
Scavino earned his way into the White House by running social media for the president’s 2016 campaign. He was named the White House’s social media director before Trump was inaugurated. He has remained an active Trump supporter on his personal account.
