Special counsel Robert Mueller will make his first public statement on his investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election, the Justice Department said Wednesday.
Mueller will deliver the statement at 11 a.m. from the Justice Department and will not be taking questions.
The statement comes amid negotiations between Mueller’s team and House Democrats over possible testimony from the special counsel.
The White House was notified Tuesday night that Mueller would be making a statement, a senior White House official said, according to the pool report. Attorney General William Barr, who is on a work trip to Alaska, was also given a heads up, according to reports.
