A high school student in Washington state was reportedly kicked out of an online class over a “Trump 2020” flag hanging in their bedroom.
“We are aware of the alleged situation. The school administrators are in the process of doing their due diligence by conducting an investigation with staff and students to get all the facts,” the Kennewick School District said of the matter.
The flag read: “Trump 2020 No More Bulls—.”
The student was reportedly attending a virtual class on English sports and literature. The teacher of the class allegedly warned the student to remove the flag in a chat message, but the student did not see the warning. The student was then dismissed from the class, according to local reports.
The unidentified student’s parents said the student had the right to hang the flag in the bedroom, despite the one profanity.
“It’s an unfortunate situation,” the parents said. “If they were in school this would not have happened.”
The student had reportedly been previously told to remove a Trump hat they wore during a different class.
