Giuliani’s daughter endorses Biden and takes shot at ‘cronies’ who follow Trump

The daughter of Rudy Giuliani endorsed Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden in spite of her father’s close relationship with President Trump.

Caroline Rose Giuliani, who supported Hillary Clinton prior to the 2016 election, wrote a column titled “Rudy Giuliani Is My Father. Please, Everyone, Vote for Joe Biden and Kamala Harris” for Vanity Fair on Thursday. The younger Giuliani writes that she and her father argued about politics during her childhood, before transitioning into a rebuke of the president’s first term in office.

“Trump and his enablers have used his presidency to stoke the injustice that already permeated our society, taking it to dramatically new, Bond-villain heights,” she wrote, adding, “I hope you’ll believe me when I say that another Trump term (a term, itself, that makes me cringe) will irrevocably harm the LGBTQ+ community, among many others.”

Caroline Giuliani discussed the “cronies” who follow the president, an implicit rebuke of her father who has remained one of the president’s biggest defenders while acting as his private attorney.

“If being the daughter of a polarizing mayor who became the president’s personal bulldog has taught me anything, it is that corruption starts with ‘yes-men’ and women, the cronies who create an echo chamber of lies and subservience to maintain their proximity to power,” she added. “We’ve seen this ad nauseam with Trump and his cadre of high-level sycophants (the ones who weren’t convicted, anyway).”

The elder Giuliani has been in the news in recent days for his role in the publication of controversial emails that supposedly came from Biden’s son, Hunter. The emails purportedly show that Hunter Biden set a meeting for his father, during the elder’s time as vice president, and a Ukrainian businessman who worked with Hunter Biden overseas.

Giuliani has long sought to obtain dirt on the Bidens, and he played a key role in the situation that ultimately resulted in the president’s impeachment in the House and acquittal in the Senate for urging Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to investigate claims of corruption regarding the Bidens.
