Pastor Andrew Brunson on Wednesday thanked Fox News for keeping his imprisonment in Turkey in the news, which he said was a factor in his release after two years.
“The first thing we want to say before anything else is thanks to Fox, because one of the things political prisoners often feel is that they’re forgotten,” Brunson said on Fox News.
“We know that you kept us in the news and this was very helpful to us, so we are grateful,” he said.

Brunson was released on Friday after being held for two years. He met with President Trump on Saturday, and said he prayed for Trump while he was in prison.
Brunson told Fox he was held with more than 20 others in a cell built for about eight people. He said he had a bed because he was one of the first to arrive.
He said he wasn’t able to convert any of his cellmates to Christianity.
“No, they were all very, very strong Muslims. They were trying to convert me,” he said.
