The American Spectator is baring Sarah Palin’s rack for everyone to see!
The cover of the magazine’s upcoming May issue features a head shot of the former GOP vice-presidential candidate — bearing the cover line “Sarah Palin’s Rack.”
The story actually focuses on how Palin “has racked up an impressive record electing conservatives,” but as the Spectator is a political — not pornographic — magazine, the headline “Sarah Palin’s Rack” raised some eyebrows.
“If you’re anything like me, your head went to a magical, but probably inappropriate place,” Mediabistro‘s Peter Ogburn writes.”It just reads like low-rent, soft-core fantasy porn.”
The former Alaska governor has been sexualized by a magazine before. Back in 2010, Newsweek printed a cover depicting Palin posing in running gear alongside the headline “How Do You Solve a Problem like Sarah?”
Palin shot back at the magazine calling the choice of photo “unfortunate” and “sexist.”
“The media will do anything to draw attention — even if out of context,” she said on her Facebook page a week after the magazine went to print.
But in defense of the Spectator‘s headline, the former VP hopeful has pointed out her own “rack” before. During her speech at the Conservative Political Action Conference last month, Palin told a story about how her husband gave her a gun rack for Christmas, but she gave him the gun to put in the rack.
“He’s got the rifle, I got the rack,” she joked.
Palin has yet to respond to the Spectator‘s headline, but her “rack” jokes might only be okay when she tells them.
Still, the headline did catch people’s attention on Twitter.
