Two brothers from Silver Spring were killed when the car they were in ran off the road and struck a utility pole.
There were four people in the dark blue 2006 Nissan Sentra when it crashed on Layhill Road near Middlevale Road late Wednesday. Killed were the driver, Idris Rafiq Muhammad, 20, and front seat passenger, Khalifah Muhammad, 18, of 12800 Saddlebrook Drive. Both men were wearing their seatbelts.
The rear passengers, a 17-year-old female and an 18-year-old female, were taken to the hospital, and were expected to survive.
