Ted Cruz’s presidential campaign is selling “make PC great again” hats designed to needle Donald Trump.
At a Thursday morning rally in Maryland, Cruz chastised Trump’s ‘political correctness’ because of the Republican front-runner’s opposition to a controversial North Carolina law that restricts some transgender individuals’ bathroom usage. The Texas senator suggested Trump needed a new hat as a result.
“Grown adult men, strangers should not be alone in a bathroom with little girls. And that’s not conservative or liberal, that’s not Republican or Democrat, that’s basic common sense,” Cruz said on Thursday morning. “But you know a few months ago, Donald told us he could be the most politically correct person on Earth, and I guess he’s showing us what that looks like. I am waiting with anticipation for the new baseball caps: Make PC great again.”
The hats cost $25 and will ship after May 15, according to Cruz’s website. The campaign’s website also notes that the hats are made in America.
