Kellog’s issued an apology this week after someone suggested that the artwork featured on the back of his box of Corn Pops contained racist undertones.
I have nothing to add to this.

Here’s the artwork, and here’s what the cereal critic, Saladin Ahmed, had to say about it: “hey @KelloggsUS why is literally the only brown corn pop on the whole cereal box the janitor? this is teaching kids racism.”
He added, “yes its a tiny thing, but when you see your kid staring at this over breakfast and realize millions of other kids are doing the same.”

Kellog’s responded immediately to Ahmed’s questions, saying in a statement posted on social media, “Kellogg is committed to diversity & inclusion. We did not intend to offend – we apologize. The artwork is updated & will be in stores soon.”
Oh, really!
Let’s not forget the years where Corn Pops’ advertising was based on the celebration of drug addiction. Okay, for real though, I still have nothing to add, except that this story about cereal box racism is really cuckoo for Cocoa Puffs.
Har har.
