Daschle: 2008 is the new 1860

148 years later

Is this presidential election historic? Tom Daschle sure thinks it is!

At a Institute for Education breakfast Wednesday, Daschle made sure to hammer home just how momentous this election is (he’s an Obama supporter):

“This is as transformative as the election in 1860 with Abraham Lincoln or in 1912 with Woodrow Wilson or in 1942 with Franklin Roosevelt.”

“…the extraordinatry historical nature of this year’s election and the challenges we face…”

“Nothing will afect us more than what happens in the next 40 days.”

“The plate of issues is staggering!”

“The gravity of the issues we face…”

“This transformational moment in American History…”

“Something has to be done!”
