Maryland student slain in Philadelphia

A college student from Rockville was fatally stabbed after he broke into an apartment near Philadelphia’s Drexel University, where he was a senior. Police say 22-year-old Evan Morris broke into the apartment at about 5 a.m. Friday to fight with someone he had had a disagreement with, the Philadelphia Daily News reported.

That person, a college-age man whose name was not released, grabbed a knife and stabbed Morris in the chest, cheek and head, according to the Daily News.

Police don’t expect to file charges in the case, saying the stabbing appears to have been done in self-defense.

Morris graduated in 2007 from Thomas S. Wootton High School in Rockville, his Facebook page says.
