Baltimore police Friday morning seized $32,000 worth of heroin from a Southwest Baltimore rowhouse and arrested three men in an attempt to destroy a “large” drug gang?s business.
Police on Tuesday also plan to block off the area — which includes Franklintown Road and Lombard Street — where the drug gang operates, allowing only residents to enter, said Lt. Sean Kaphammer of the Southwestern District.
“It?s going to cripple their organization,” Kaphammer said. “We?re getting a lot of county residents out-of-state people coming in to buy drugs. We caught a guy from Tennessee saying it?s the best heroin on the East Coast.”
At about 6:45 a.m., Southwestern District narcotic detectives executed a search and seizure warrant at a house in the 2500 block of West Pratt Street and seized 3,200 gel-caps of suspected heroin and one handgun.
Officers arrested Arnold Burton, 41; Maron McDonald, 23; and Thomas Hill, 55, and charged them with possession with the intent to distribute and a handgun charge, Kaphammer said.
“This is a large heroin shop,” Kaphammer said. “They?re selling in excess of $60,000 a day.”
