A new camera system that will provide motorists with live video feeds of crowded Baltimore streets is expected to be discussed at the city’s Board of Estimates meeting Wednesday.
Baltimore’s Department of Transportation is seeking approval of a contract with TrafficLand Inc., a Virginia-based company that provides live traffic feeds and traffic information in 32 cities, including New York and Arlington, Va., as well as Maryland highways, to municipalities, radio stations and state highways administrations nationwide.
Transportation department spokeswoman Adrienne Barnes said the camera system would give Baltimore area drivers up-to-the-minute information on traffic over the Internet as well.
