A North Alabama football player’s racist comment about President Barack Obama on Sunday got him kicked off the football team.
When NBC decided to air Obama’s speech at the Newtown memorial during the 49ers-Patriots game, North Alabama football player Bradley Patterson tweeted from his Twitter handle @2A_HogOfTheYear, “Take that N***r off the tv, we wanna watch football!” The Twitter account has since been closed, in case you wanted to see what else this hothead has posted.
Patterson was a walk-on long snapper at the University of North Alabama, until he was kicked off the team just hours after he sent the tweet.
UNA Athletic Director Mark Linder personally apologized for Patterson’s tweet Sunday night through his own twitter account.
Thx 2 everyone who brought the inappropriate tweet to our attention. @unaathletics does not condone. He is no longer a member of the team.

Patterson did not join the team until the fourth week of the season and wasn’t recruited to play there in the first place, so it looks like he won’t be getting too much playing time on a professional football field anytime soon.
No more football practice means he can finally watch the first quarter of the game he missed last night – because we were all worried about that.
