Trump heads to Washington for inauguration

President-elect Trump prepared to make his way to Washington, D.C., on Thursday morning for his inauguration as president, and promised to fight hard to make America great again.

“Getting ready to leave for Washington, D.C. The journey begins and I will be working and fighting very hard to make it a great journey for the American people. I have no doubt that we will, together, MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!” Trump tweeted.

Trump is set to be sworn in at noon on Friday and will be spending Thursday in Washington to prepare for the ceremony. He is scheduled to speak at a celebration at the Lincoln Memorial Thursday afternoon.

Trump also pointed to a supporter’s words who argued Thursday morning that the deep divisions in the country are not his fault. Quoting the Rev. Franklin Graham, President-elect Trump said the current acrimonious atmosphere in the country isn’t due to his election but has been present for a long time.

“‘It wasn’t Donald Trump that divided this country, this country has been divided for a long time!’ Stated today by Reverend Franklin Graham,” Trump tweeted.
