Poking fun at the recent National Security Agency leaks, the parody website Funny or Die released its latest web video, which urges Americans to talk like a terrorist all the time and not take drastic measures like leaving your phone at home or abandoning your Verizon plan.
The video urges Americans to take matters into their own hands if they want their rights protected rather than rely on elected officials.
“The only way to fight back against our country’s excessive wiretapping and data mining is to make it irrelevant,” comedian Trevor Moore explains in the video. “That’s why we’re launching “Operation: Everyone Talk Like A Terrorist All The Time.”
“Operation: Everyone Talk Like A Terrorist All The Time” does have a premise to it, however. For example, it urges people to start showing affection by describing a terrorist attack. According to the video, the grander the scale of the attack, the more love the perpetrator has expressed. Saying “yes” can simply be replaced by an epithet about religion and saying “no” can be expressed by a multicultural saying.
“If we all openly discuss terrorists’ plots in each of our phone conversations than eavesdropping on those phone conversations become pointless,” Moore said.
Fighting back against the NSA’s wiretapping practices shouldn’t be all work, however.
“Have fun with it,” Moore said. “But it’s time for us to stand up and protect our rights.”
