Mike Flynn, the retired Army lieutenant general who resigned as national security adviser, is back on Twitter.
Flynn, who announced his resignation from the White House on Monday over his conversations with Russia’s ambassador to the United States, restored his verified @GenFlynn account on Tuesday.
Last month, Flynn, who found his tweets being scrutinized, deleted his account. That was a day after Flynn’s son, Michael G. Flynn, who was fired from working on the transition over his tweets, also deleted his Twitter account.
On Tuesday afternoon, his son’s account, @mflynnJR, was back online too.
Earlier Tuesday, two Democrats, Rep. Elijah Cummings, D-Md., and House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, wrongly quoted a fake Twitter account purporting to be the former national security adviser.
His son tweeted an appeal to Twitter to remove the fake account.
This is a fake account for the 100th time….Hey @Twitter please remove this poser….. https://t.co/AN2rtEc9GI
