A 95-member committee tasked with deciding how to carry out a plan to eradicate homelessness in Fairfax County met for the first time last week.
The panel’s work is part of a mission to end the problem in the county within 10 years. A recent survey found more than 1,800 homeless people in Fairfax County and its adjacent small cities, a figure that includes almost 700 children.
The committee is slated to present an action plan before the Board of Supervisors in September.
