Hosts of ‘The View’ criticize Warren for refusing to participate in Fox News town hall

Hosts on the “The View” were critical about presidential hopeful Elizabeth Warren’s decision not to appear on Fox News for a town hall event.

During Wednesday’s show, some of the hosts critiqued Warren’s decision.

“I think that it’s being very dismissive of so many Americans for her not to go on Fox News,” Sonny Hostin said.

“I think there a lot of good journalists there like Chris Wallace, like Shep Smith, and I think that if you want to be president of the United States — for everyone — then you need to speak to everyone,” she added.

Joy Behar said she kind of agreed with Hostin and contrasted Warren to President Trump, noting that Trump “never goes on MSNBC or CNN.”

Meghan McCain called Warren’s decision “very shortsighted on her part for a few reasons,” adding that “you’ve got to go to spaces that are uncomfortable.”

Whoopi Goldberg also weighed in, saying, “If you can’t face the Fox audience, you can’t face the U.S. — it’s that simple.”

Despite fellow Democratic contenders appearing on the network, Warren said in a Tuesday Twitter thread that she would not attend a town hall on Fox News, and called the news network a “hate-for-profit racket” that caters to racists and conspiracy theorists.

Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., appeared in a town hall event on Fox News in April and Sen. Amy Klobuchar, D-Minn., did earlier this month. South Bend, Ind., Mayor Pete Buttigieg is doing one on Sunday and Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, D-N.Y., will be appearing for one next month.
