Tara Reade wishes Biden would drop out of the presidential race

Tara Reade said that she wishes Joe Biden, whom she accused of sexually assaulting and harassing her when she worked in his Senate office in 1993, would drop out of the presidential race.

In Reade’s first on-camera interview since Biden denied Reade’s allegations, former Fox News host Megyn Kelly asked her what she would say to Biden if she knew he was listening.

“I want to say, you and I were there, Joe Biden. Please step forward and be held accountable. You should not be running on character for the president of the United States,” Reade said.

“You want him to withdraw?” Kelly asked.

“I wish he would,” Reade responded. “But he won’t. But I wish he would. That’s how I feel emotionally.”

Reade, 56, alleges that Biden sexually harassed her and sexually assaulted her by forcibly kissing her and penetrating her with his fingers. Reade says that she complained about the harassment, but not the assault, to top staff members, who deny hearing any complaint from her. Several friends of Reade’s have said that they remember hearing about either the harassment or the alleged assault, with varying degrees of detail, around the time it happened or in the ’90s.

Earlier on Thursday, the law firm Wigdor LLP announced that it is representing Reade.
