Congressional candidate builds border wall in new campaign ad

Jason Emert, chairman of the Young Republican National Federation and candidate for Congress in Tennessee’s 2nd Congressional District built a physical wall to show his support for President Trump and border security in his latest campaign advertisement.

The video, titled “Brick by Brick,” shows Emert building a mock border wall in his front yard, telling viewers that “if your foundation is solid, it’ll take care of itself for many years to come,” before his wife interrupts him and asks if he’s really going to help President Trump build the wall.

“You bet I am,” Emert replies, before telling the audience that unlike many politicians, when he says he’s going to do something, he’ll actually follow through, brick by brick.

“I’m a pro-Trump conservative who will support the President’s agenda to secure the border and ban sanctuary cities,” Emert told Red Alert Politics. “In Washington, I will keep my promises to the people of Tennessee’s 2nd District and make Washington work for us again.”

Emert also views the wall as a generational issue. He said in a Fox & Friends interview that his generation and the generation behind him have to “protect the greatest country in the history of the world, which is America.”

“I am the only candidate in the race that has already had the privilege to work alongside President Trump and his Administration as Chairman of the Young Republican National Federation,” Emert told Red Alert. “I’m excited and ready to hit the ground running in Washington to continue the progress President Trump has made so far: We will drain the swamp, continue to rollback the harmful Obama-era policies, and make Washington work for East Tennessee again.”

Chris Olmstead, campaign spokesman for the Emert campaign told Red Alert Politics that “Butch Jones, Washington, and career politicians… have made promises to East Tennesseans that they have been unable or maybe even unwilling to deliver on.” He continued, “Whether you’re coaching football or in public office, the people want to see results — they want to win. Jason will go to Washington and work with President Trump to build the wall, secure our borders, and fight for East Tennesseans until they’ve won so much that they’re tired of winning.”
